Over
the weekend, Oakland Police Department descended
upon several local night clubs with their pens and
citations books drawn. At least 6 private
security officers were cited and had their firearms
confiscated for carrying a concealed firearm on
duty without a CCW. All officers were cited
for not wearing uniforms with security patches on
their shoulders. Sources say that members
of this elite group of officers also provide private
escort details for the mayor of Oakland?
Someone needs to check that program.
Come
on guys! If you have completed a firearms
course through an approved BSIS training facility,
you should know that you
cannot carry a concealed
firearm without a permit; no matter what your
employer tells you. You are responsible for
your license and no one else. The officers above
now have a trial date this month to determine their
fate. They also face stiff penalties and
possible revocation of their permits by the Bureau
of Security and Investigative Services.
The
same officers were highlighted in the June's
newsletter. Looks like their poor decisions
finally caught up with them.

What type of uniforms will you be wearing?
It
sounds like a lot, had the officer's above asked
these questions, they would probably still be
working today.
